Taliban reported on successes in eliminating IS terrorists in Afghanistan

Forces of the radical Taliban (prohibited and recognized as terrorist in the Russian Federation) successfully carry out operations against the terrorist group “Islamic State” (IG, banned in the Russian Federation)… This was stated by the representative of the radicals and the deputy minister of information and culture in the interim Afghan government Zabihullah Mujahid, quoted by TOLO News.

The number of arrested and killed militants testifies to the success in destroying terrorist cells. According to a Taliban spokesman, the matter concerns 19 IS terrorists killed and 16 detainees. “IS is just an inconvenience, not a threat,” Mujahid said.

He also insisted that the Taliban are capable of fighting a terrorist group on their own and do not need US assistance.

At the same time, TOLO News recalls that recently a whole series of explosions has been carried out in Afghanistan: both in the capital of the country, Kabul, and in the provinces of Nangarhar, Parwan, and Kunar. Most of the attacks were claimed by ISIS or related groups.

One of the most recent attacks took place at the Shiite mosque of Seyid Abad in Kunduz province. As a result of the terrorist attack, at least 150 people were killed, at least 200 people were injured of varying severity. There are many children and adolescents among the victims of the terrorist attack and the wounded.
