García Mantel’s professional career
In his professional profile on Linkedin, García Mantel indicated that he was a member of the Institute of Economic Policy-National Academy of Moral and Political Sciences and of the Julio A. Roca Institute. At the same time, he stood out as academic advisor to the Security and Defense Observatory of UCEMA (University of the Center for Macroeconomic Studies of Argentina).
Meanwhile, on the Anticiparse site, a private strategic management entity of which García Mantel was also a part, it is detailed that the deceased candidate for national deputy was a retired Colonel and General Staff Officer of the Argentine Army and the United States Army of America.
In this sense, he served as head of the Argentine Combat Team 3 in the peace enforcement mission of the United Nations Transitional Administration in Eastern Slavonia, Baranya and Western Syria (UNTAES) of the Organization of the United Nations (UN); and also of the 10th Tank Cavalry Regiment and Argentine Defense Attaché in France, Switzerland, Belgium and Portugal.
The place he occupied in the Government of Macri
With a degree in Strategy and Organization, as well as an Analyst in Strategic Prospective at the Institute of Higher Studies of National Defense of France, García Mantel was national director of Planning and Strategy of the Ministry of Defense of Argentina during the Government of Mauricio Macri between December 2015 and April of 2019.
In this function, in addition to preparing plans, directives and proposing decrees to the National Executive Power related to his function, he was in charge of representing the Ministry in the organization of international events held in the country during the management of Cambiemos, such as the event of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games and the G20 Leaders Summit.
