Roman Vasyanov’s debut directorial work Obschaga was released immediately on three streaming services – Kinopoisk HD, Premier and Kion. Before that, the viewer knew him, first of all, from his camera work – he shot the first part of “Suicide Squad” and the film “Fury” with Brad Pitt, as well as Valery Todorovsky’s “Hipster”. He spoke in detail about his camera career in an interview with Yuri Dudyu in 2019. Meduza asked him a few questions about his directorial career, as well as about the Dorm, based on Alexei Ivanov’s novel Dorm-on-Blood. According to the plot, five friends find themselves in an illegal position in a hostel and, in order to save a place, each of them gradually enters into a deal with his conscience. In an interview, Vasyanov tells what the “General” and “Load 200” have in common and why he decided to change the ending of Ivanov’s book on the screen.
