Sergio Berni

Sergio Berni, Minister of Security of the province of Buenos Aires, was characterized in recent months by having a high media prominence, whose greatest intersection was with the former Minister of National Security, Sabina Fréderic. In this sense, Gerardo Milman, candidate for national deputy for Juntos in the Province of Buenos Aires, described Berni’s administration as one with “a lot of camera.”

In dialogue with CNN Radio, Milman harshly criticized the government’s management in terms of security, vindicating Patricia Bullrich, who held the position of Minister of National Security in the Cambiemos government. “The homicide rate in 2020, when we were all locked up by the pandemic except the government that was celebrating in Olivos, grew 3.8 percent compared to 2019,” he said.

After this clarification, the candidate attacked Berni, whose management is summarized in an action with “a lot of television camera and little effectiveness”. “In the episode of the hostage-taking of Caseros, the captor and the victim died. And there were three police officers injured. Meanwhile, Berni was giving interviews on TV. He led the operation and it was a disaster. There is no public security in the Province, ”said the former Secretary of Federal Security Management.

“We had a Minister of Security (Sabina Frederic) who said that Switzerland was more boring because there were no crimes. We reflected that that minister could not be in charge of the area and this happened later. Now there is Aníbal Fernández, who has already held the position and we know what he can do. We went from Guatemala to Guatepeor. The Government has an ideological position regarding security: for them, criminals are victims of society ”, he stressed.

“The Ministry of Security worked well when Patricia Bullrich was there. We have to bet that the minister of the future of Cambiemos will resolve the situation, “said Milman. Finally, he gave his opinion on the next elections: “If the results of the PASO are repeated, it will take five more senators so that Cristina Kirchner does not have a majority in 2023. It would be a historic change,” he stressed.
