The Argentine National Gendarmerie (GNA) kidnapped more than two tons of marijuana hidden in a hill in the town of Colonia Delicia, Misiones.
The troops detected vehicle tracks on a secondary dirt road that was destined for a hilly area.
The procedure was carried out by troops from Squad 10 of “Eldorado” and the Complex Crimes Investigation Unit of GNA, while they carried out patrol tasks in the vicinity of the said town located some 203 kilometers north of Posadas.
During the reconnaissance tasks, the gendarmes found two mounds with 134 packages wrapped in black nylon and packing tape covered by branches and pine leaves, they specified.
Later, before witnesses, the officers opened the packages and extracted several bricks that contained a plant substance with a strong smell characteristic of marijuana.
Faced with this situation, the personnel transferred the load to the Force Unit where they carried out the narcotest tests that yielded a positive result for “cannabis sativa”.
In total, 2,723 kilos of that drug were seized, which were at the disposal of the Federal Court and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of Eldorado.
