The ballot boxes opened today at 8:00 am in the six polling stations of the Union of Parishes of Trofa, Segadães and Lamas, in the municipality of Águeda, with voting taking place normally, the municipal source told Lusa.
The municipal elections were not held in that union of parishes on the 26th, due to an error in the ballot papers (change of the acronym of CDU to BE) for the Parish Assembly.
On that occasion, the vote was refused only for the Municipal Council and Assembly, so the elections for the three municipal bodies were called for today.
Regardless of the result he obtains at the polling stations open today, the current president of the Chamber of Águeda, Jorge Almeida, who is running for the coalition “Juntos por Águeda” (PSD/MPT) already has his re-election guaranteed with the day’s vote 26.
Paulo Tavares (CDS-PP), Sandra Cardoso (PS), Madalena Pinheiro (CDU) and Nuno Branco (Together for Águeda) compete for the Assembly of the Union of Parishes of Trofa, Segadães and Lamas.
