Grupo Reto Los Mochis serves 393 women with breast cancer

Los Mochis, Sinaloa.- A total of 393 women have attended Challenge Group, Total Recovery Los Mochis AC, in the six years it has been in existence in this city.

“I think that in the years 2020 and 2021 more women have joined the group, since we have more dissemination on social networks and the media, we have a care module within the IMSS Gyneco-Pediatric Hospital, where they treat women with breast cancer”, Informed Claribel López Félix.

The president of this association mentioned that most of the women who have approached the group are between 40 and 60 years old.

“But this year I was surprised that very young girls, under 35 years old, joined Grupo Reto. Day by day, much younger women join the ranks of Grupo Reto and that is very alarming ”.

He explained that the timely detection of this disease is of the utmost importance.

“Grupo Reto is committed to timely detection because early detection makes a difference in terms of saving lives.”

He commented that so far this year 2021, five women from the Challenge Group have lost the battle.

He added that the resources that Grupo Reto uses to support patients are sought through fund-raising events.

Pink Caravan

To commemorate the International Day to Fight Breast Cancer, Los Mochis Challenge Group will carry out the Pink Caravan, which consists of a breakfast in a caravan and will take place in Plazuela 27 de Septiembre, on October 16 from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

“People are going to pass in their cars and we are going to bring breakfast to the vehicle, which has a cost of 200 pesos.”

He highlighted that they have granted more than 1,577 cabinet studies, such as tomographies, magnetic resonances, bone scans, and so on.

They have delivered more than 595 oncological wigs, more than 117 external silicone breast prostheses have also been awarded, among many more actions.
