FGR detains 9 intelligence police accused of kidnapping in Ciudad Juárez

Chihuahua.- There were nine policemen arrested for organized crime and the kidnapping of eight people, including four minors, by the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), through the Office of the Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime (FEMDO) in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua.

These are nine police officers attached to the Intelligence Unit of the Municipal Public Security Secretariat, among which is Aldo “S”, who served as responsible of the unit during the two periods of Armando Cabada Alvídrez’s government from 2016 to 2021.

The investigation was derived from the kidnapping of four adults and four minors in Ciudad Juárez in April 2021; It was this Friday, October 8, when a order of arrest in several homes, achieving the arrest of Aldo “S”, Carlos “F”, Jesús “N”, Luis “H”, José “R”, Alan “A”, Miguel “P”, María del Carmen “T” and Larissa “M”, which were transferred to Cefereso in Sonora.

One of the residences searched is located on Quintas Elsa and Quintas Angélica streets of the Quintas del Valle II subdivision, where it appears that they assured five vehicles; another of the properties is located south of Ciudad Juárez.

For his part, the Municipal Public Security Secretary, César Omar Muñoz Morales, affirmed that all the police officers who made up the Intelligence Unit were transferred to other areas, “Right now the Unit does not exist, it is more than obvious that this Unit was carrying out actions that were not its purpose”, said.

In the case of the detainees, it reported that they had already separated from their position and until the criminal process is closed, it will be determined what will happen to them administratively.

The head of the Unit was on the run

It was on June 17, 2021 that an order for apprehension against the head of the Intelligence Unit by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Chihuahua for the crimes of torture, robbery and trespassing, however Aldo “S” fled since June 11 after that two police officers linked to him were arrested.

Aldo “S” had been incapacitated from his work due to post-traumatic tendonitis since March 3, 2018 and continued to have medical disabilities to avoid going to work even when he was a fugitive.
