The president of the CCIAP, José Ramón Icaza, pointed out that to achieve this it is necessary for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to be able to start their operations.

The Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) consider that the Job recovery must be a common obsession.

In your weekly newsletter, the president of the CCIAP, José Ramón Icaza, He pointed out that to achieve this it is necessary for small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to be able to start their operations.

Icaza recalled that at the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic when they were implemented restriction measures, the National Government, in a timely manner, made available to the business sector, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, borrowed funds by different multilaterals.

However, in all this time their use has been limited, given that the conditions established to access them do not take into account the financial situation of the companies in an environment of prolonged closure.

According to Izaza, the guild has met with SME entrepreneurs, who have confirmed the difficulties they have in accessing these credits. “Everyone agrees that the requirements to obtain these loans obviate the current reality.”

Faced with this situation, the union considers that it is necessary to print a sense of urgency, since these credits must be implemented immediately, taking into account the reality described above.

“It is as simple as that, if these companies are not supported, mmany will join the ranks of the closures and, along with them, the jobs they created will be lost forever “added the president of the CCIAP.
