Course record for Kenyans at Graz Marathon

The Kenyan Charles Ndiema wins the 28th Graz Marathon in rainy weather on Sunday in a new course record time of 2:10:47 hours ahead of three of his compatriots.

The previous record was set by Edwin Kirwa with 2:11:10 three years ago. In the women’s category, Hungarian Enikö Molnar is the fastest in 2:53:55.

In the traditional Chicago Marathon, which also takes place on Sunday, the Ethiopian Seifu Tura wins in 2:06:12. The 24-year-old is 23 seconds faster than the American Galen Rupp in his first big win.

In the women’s category, the Kenyan world champion Ruth Chepngetich wins in 2:22:31, clearly ahead of local hero Emma Bates.
