Brazil registers 182 deaths by covid-19 in 24 hours

Brazil registered 8,639 cases of covid-19 and 182 deaths caused by the disease in 24 hours, according to the epidemiological situation bulletin released this Sunday (9) by the Ministry of Health.

With the new covid-19 diagnoses confirmed, the total number of people infected since the start of the pandemic reached 21,575,820.

There are still 295,951 cases in follow-up. The name is given to active cases of people who have had a confirmed diagnosis and are being cared for by health teams or recovering at home.

There are 3,152 deaths from severe acute respiratory syndrome (SRAG) under investigation. This is because in many cases the analysis of the cause continues even after death.

With the new deaths, the sum of people who lost their lives to the disease reached 601,011.

According to the bulletin, 20,678,858 people have recovered from the disease.


At the top of the ranking of deaths by state are São Paulo (150,758), Rio de Janeiro (67,175), Minas Gerais (54,996), Paraná (39,540) and Rio Grande do Sul (35,045). The ones that registered the least deaths were Acre (1,840), Amapá (1,986), Roraima (2,06), Tocantins (3,809) – which did not send the data this Sunday – and Sergipe (6,017).


The most recent data from the Ministry of Health show that more than 249 million doses of the vaccine against covid-19 were applied throughout Brazil, with 149.7 million as the first dose and 99.3 million as the second dose (or single dose ). According to the folder, 310, 49 million doses of vaccine against covid-19 were distributed throughout the country.
