Authorities are investigating an attack that occurred in the early morning of October 3rd inside a disco in Albufeira, Algarve, captured by the establishment’s video surveillance cameras, GNR source told Lusa this Sunday.
The images of the aggression, published in the online edition of the Correio da Manhã newspaper, show a security guard hitting a customer with punches and kicks in a nightlife establishment, a moment witnessed by several people, without anyone intervening.
Shortly after the start of the aggression, which lasts about 30 seconds, two soldiers from a GNR intervention team enter the space, at which point the victim is left inanimate on the ground by the aggressor.
Asked by Lusa about whether an investigation into the occurrence was underway, the GNR general command source added that the “facts seen in the images motivated their participation in the competent court”.
According to the same source, two individuals were identified, the aggressor and the victim, and the victim refused medical assistance, he added.
Also according to the GNR, the attack “had its origins in a nightlife establishment in Albufeira, at 5:00 am on October 3, 2021”.
In the video, which lasts about a minute, the victim can be seen standing talking to the security guard, who suddenly punches him, without the client having a chance to defend himself, falling backwards.
Once the victim is on the ground, the aggressor continues to punch and kick him, until he is inanimate.
