Aguará Guazú became champion of the National women's rugby union

The women’s national club title returns to Tucumán after six years: Aguará Guazú became champion of the National Clubs for Seniors held in Junín (Buenos Aires) by beating Capri (Misiones), champion of the edition, 10-0 in the final. 2016 and one of the strongest teams in the country.

The group of Aguilares, directed by Lucas Bustos, made his way to the final defeating in the qualifying phase Cha Roga (26-5), University of Tierra del Fuego (24-0) and the always candidate La Plata in a fast-paced game until the last minute (17-14) . Then, in the semifinals of the Gold Cup, he beat Alberdi Rugby (5-0) in a tough match and qualified for the first Gold Final in its history. There, he controlled the match and won with two tries (10-0) over Capri, a physically very powerful rival.

The historic achievement of Aguará Guazú (second club from Tucumán to win the Nacional, after Cardenales) was completed with the podium of Alberdi Rugby, who defeated Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (2018 champion) in the match for third place by 21- 15, defending the last minutes with two less players. For the Alberdianas it was also a great tournament, having qualified for the Gold Cup for the first time after sweeping the qualifying phase: 54-0 to Salto, 34-0 to Neuquén RC and 27-7 to Old Resian.

Both clubs also participated in the Nacional Juvenil, as did Liceo. Alberdi Rugby qualified for the Silver Cup, Liceo for the Bronze Cup and Aguará Guazú for the Stimulus.
