Konstantinos Mavropanos clearly enjoys life away from Arsenal.

The Gunners loaned players bigger than the Greece international last summer, like Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi and William Saliba, to name a few.

But the big center-back can claim to be possibly the most successful of all the stars Mikel Arteta and Edu have allowed to temporarily leave north London during the off-season.

That’s because Mavropanos was on target again on Saturday as Stuttgart beat Hoffenheim 3-1.

In doing so, the 23-year-old colossus has now scored three very impressive goals for the German side in just eight games.

Mavropanos’ form is all the more impressive as he is a central defender.

You cannot fault Arteta for loaning him out as Ben White and Gabriel Magalhaes are currently a very good partnership in Arsenal defense.

But beyond those two, Arteta’s center-back options include Pablo Mari, Rob Holding and Calum Chambers.

And Mavropanos can probably claim to be an upgrade on any of those three.

If White or Gabriel suffer from a long-term injury this season and Arsenal are forced to lean on one of those three and struggle, questions will be put to the Spain manager – and rightly so.
