TBILISI, 4 Oct – Sputnik. The eight-year-old child died in Tbilisi’s “New Children’s Clinic named after I. Tsitsishvili” due to complications caused by the coronavirus, the clinic’s medical director Maya Chkhaidze told reporters. According to Chkhaidze, the child had a congenital chromosomal pathology, a heart defect. The clinic is currently treating about 80 children who are there with their parents for coronavirus. According to Chkhaidze, only two of them are vaccinated with one dose, the rest are not vaccinated. There are 19 children in the intensive care unit. Of these, one patient, who is 2.5 months old, is connected to a ventilator. Epidemiologists are sounding the alarm and urging citizens to get vaccinated. TBILISI, Oct 4 – Sputnik. An eight-year-old child died in Tbilisi’s “New Children’s Clinic named after I. Tsitsishvili” due to complications caused by the coronavirus, the clinic’s medical director Maya Chkhaidze told reporters.

According to Chkhaidze, the child had a congenital chromosomal pathology, a heart defect.

“He was admitted to us on the sixth day after the confirmation of the coronavirus. Before that, he was in another clinic, and from there he was transferred in serious condition,” Chkhaidze said.

The clinic is currently treating about 80 children who are there with their parents for coronavirus. According to Chkhaidze, only two of them are vaccinated with one dose, the rest are not vaccinated.

There are 19 children in the intensive care unit. Of these, one patient, who is 2.5 months old, is connected to an artificial respiration apparatus.

Epidemiologists are sounding the alarm and urging citizens to get vaccinated. Over the past day, 4,124 vaccinations have been made, which is a very low figure.
