Ralf Dümmel is the clear number one. During his time as a jury member of “Höhle der Löwen” he invested over 16.6 million euros in start-ups. In second place is Carsten Maschmeyer with a sum of around 10.6 million euros. Tech investor Frank Thelen follows in third place. He has so far spent around 4.1 million euros, as the evaluation of Warenvergleich.de shows.

Among other things, Dümmel invested in the reusable facial cleansing pads “Waschies” and the nutritional supplements from “smartsleep”. Together with Maschmeyer, he invested 1.5 million euros in the start-up alone. It was the most expensive deal in the history of the series to date. Thelen, in turn, put his money into the organic soup “Little Lunch” and the spice start-up “Ankerkraut”.

“Den of the Lions”: Many deals are also bursting

Interesting: The total for Frank Thelen could have been significantly higher. But numerous deals fell through. Around 7.1 million euros therefore did not flow into the new companies. For comparison: at Dümmel it was only 4.5 million euros. At Carsten Maschmeyer, the summer is even slightly higher than at Thelen: Deals totaling 7.95 million euros did not materialize.
