Roy Keane called Phil Foden’s performance against Liverpool “pure quality” while joking that he had to send James Milner home in an ambulance.
Foden had one of his best performances to date, scoring an excellent goal to help his side score a point against their title rivals at Anfield.

Young Foden gave Milner, 35, a scorching afternoon
The 21-year-old midfielder was thrilling on Pep Guardiola’s side, with Keane believing that Foden has reached new heights in his development.
“We’ve been talking about him over the last few years, whether he’s going to take it to the next level,” Keane said.
“He’s clearly doing it now, he’s more of a regular, he’s obviously gaining confidence, he’s working with brilliant players, he’s working with one of the greatest coaches of all time.”
Foden was City’s biggest threat throughout the game, creating chances and firing shots as he burst in from the left sideline.

Foden was rewarded with a brilliantly scored goal in the 69th minute, before leveling City in the 81st minute when their cross was deflected to allow Kevin De Bruyne to bring home.
“Everything about him today was quality, his first touch, his decision making,” Keane said.
“You talk about affecting the big games, he scores a goal, he sets one, that’s what you want from these good young players.”
Foden faced James Milner, 35, who replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back.

Milner was fortunate enough not to get a second yellow card after some tough challenges in the second half, with Foden sending the 14-year-old his older man away.
“I think today Milner will be happy to see him behind him,” Keane said. “I think Milner is going home by ambulance tonight.”
The former Manchester United then expanded on his praise for Foden, saying: “Everything about him, even that ball out there, pure, pure kid quality.”
