Bielefeld – Sunday, October 3rd, 2021, 9:35 p.m.
Bayer Leverkusen closes the seventh round in Germany’s Bundesliga with an away win. The “Werkself” beat Arminia Bielefeld 4-0.
After initial scanning, the first deal also lands on the network. Moussa Diaby brings a nice combination of Florian Wirtz and Patrik Schick into the goal with a low shot (18th).
As soon as the jubilation has died down, Bielefeld supposedly compensates. U21 team player Patrick Wimmer closes the heel after a cross pass from compatriot Manuel Prietl, the hit is canceled because of Okugawa’s offside position, the goalkeeper blocked Hradecky’s view (19).
In return, Leverkusen proves merciless. This time Schick deliberately pushes the ball past the rushing Ortega after Wirtz pass – 2-0 (24th). In the second 45 minutes, Bayer slows down a bit, thanks to Schick (57th / header) and Kerim Demirbay (90th + 1 / penalty) the fifth win of the season was made by a clear margin.
With 16 points, Leverkusen is behind the tied front runners FC Bayern. Bielefeld (4 points) is in 16th place.
