Mexico.- Senators of the Morena parliamentary group disqualified the investigation carried out by the senator, Julen Renteria of the National Action Party, who accused the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador and that of Cuba led by Miguel Díaz-Canel of directing a multimillion-dollar health fraud by hiring 585 Cuban doctors without preparation to attend the pandemic in the country.
This fact that was cataloged by Rementeria as “CubaGate” and indicated that through the administration of the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, an amount of 255 million 872 thousand 177 divided pesos was invested for the Cuban “false doctors” in different games related to the same topic.
For this reason, 24 senators from Morena raised their voices through a statement to deny the claims of the Right. Noting that Rementeria is trying to launch a “smoke bomb” with the intention of diverting attention after having agreed with the Spanish extreme right.
This after a few weeks ago PAN legislators met with the leader of the Spanish VOX party, Santiago Abascal. Action that was even reproached by members of the same party.
“The accusations of Senator Julen Remetería are absolutely unfounded, it is another lie from the right […] They intend to throw a smoke bomb so that complicity with the leader of the far-right Spanish Party Vox is forgotten “, mentions the statement.
They pointed out that the doctors who arrived in Mexico to support the pandemic were assigned to Covid-19 hospitals, 589 cooperators, all of them accredited by the Cuban Ministry of Health, with profiles suitable to attend the health emergency, such as epidemiology, general medicine integral, critical medicine, biomedicine among others.
They added that the capital government, through the local Health Secretariat (Sedesa), with the support of the Health Institute for Wellbeing (Insabi), carried out various actions to strengthen the response capacity of health services, through care specialized for mechanical ventilation equipment and the incorporation of human resources to combat the virus.
