The prince Carlos recently revealed the last conversation he had with his father, the duke of edinburgh, before he died, on the 9th of April.
“We are talking about your next birthday”, he told his father, on April 8, referring to June 10, the date on which the Duke of Edinburgh would turn 100 years old. “We are talking about your birthday and there will be a reception”, reinforced the prince. “Well, for that I have to be alive, no?”replied the Duke of Edinburgh with characteristic irony and humor. “I knew I was going to say that”, said the eldest son to him.
Prince Carlos revealed this last conversation he had with his father to the BBC, regarding the documentary that the station produced in honor of the husband of Isabel II, entitled “Prince Philip: The Royal Family Remembers”, which has its premiere scheduled for next Wednesday, September 22nd, and in which various elements of the royal family talk about the prince and the relationship they had with him.
Recall that Prince Philip died the day after he had this conversation with his son, on April 9th, at age 99, and his funeral took place about a week later, on April 17th
