In the village of Buzhaninovo, Moscow Region, on September 12, a 67-year-old woman was raped and killed. On suspicion of a crime, two immigrants from Tajikistan were detained. In the evening of the next day, the villagers began to storm the hostel, where more than 150 migrants lived – they worked at a local factory that produces plastic windows. A day later, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, ordered to permanently evict all migrants from this hostel. They were taken away from the village in an unknown direction. Meduza’s special correspondent Irina Kravtsova went to Buzhaninovo: she saw how the village, which attracted the attention of the media, was hastily put in order; I learned that the migrants suspected of murder had nothing to do with the hastily evacuated hostel – and heard that the authorities understand the unwillingness of people to live next to foreigners “like no one else.”
