Consumers will pay less for electricity this Thursday despite the price increase in the wholesale market, which marks an all-time high at 188 euros / Mwh. The entry into force of the decree approved by the government on Tuesday cuts charges and taxes and energy will cost 10 cents less the kWh in the most expensive schedule of the regulated rate.
Customers under the PVPC, subject to regulation, will pay at the 2.0 rate, the most common, from a maximum of 30 cts / kWh during peak hours to a minimum of 23 in the valley. On Wednesday, the range was between 40 and 23. The greatest difference is recorded in the most expensive hours, in which the charges that are cut weighed more. In the cheapest time, you hardly notice a difference, but the rise in the wholesale market has been laminated.
These prices are still significantly above those registered a year ago. On Thursday equivalent, the highest price did not reach 15. The decree is noted, but the electricity is still expensive.
The reduction derived from the decree is also applied in the free electricity market, but the final price will depend on each contract.
