Lots of CoronaVac produced by the Chinese factory Sinovac will be replaced by immunizing agents produced by the São Paulo institute
the government of São Paulo determined the replacement of batches of CoronaVac suspended by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) in the beginning of the month. The lots that have not yet been applied to the population are stopped after the Butantan Institute notified Anvisa that a Sinovac factory, not yet inspected, had filled the units. New doses, produced at Butantan and in areas already certified by the agency, should start being delivered this Wednesday, 15. The governor of São Paulo, João Doria, said he would return the suspended vaccines to the pharmacist. “I preferred a shorter path. We have to save lives, we need vaccines. And the shortest way was to request a batch of 9 million doses from the factory already inspected and inspected by Anvisa and return these banned units to Sinovac. We will now receive 5 million doses ready, which will arrive in São Paulo in the next few years. We will have another 4 million that will arrive in the next week”, explained the governor.
This Tuesday, 12, Doria celebrated the understanding of the majority of the ministers of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to determine that or Ministry of Health send the amount of vaccines necessary to guarantee the second dose in the population of São Paulo. According to the governor, 228,000 doses of Pfizer no longer being delivered for vaccination in the state. “Although the head of the nation understands that he should disrespect the Supreme Court, the STF will need to be respected and the Ministry of Health will have to deliver the vaccines it owes to São Paulo, as well as those it owes to 26 other Brazilian states. Justice was done”, commemorate Doria.
