Andrew is sued in New York by Virginia Giuffre, who accuses him of sexual abuse. That would have happened when she was 17. Discussion arose during a telephone hearing Monday about whether Andrew has been officially informed of the lawsuit.
Giuffre’s lawyers have previously complained that Andrew is refusing to cooperate with attempts to subpoena him. According to the BBC, they have had the letter handed over to an agent at the Prince’s house in Windsor and find that sufficient. However, Andrew’s lawyer argued Monday that the rules had not been complied with.
It now seems that the prince can no longer avoid a summons. Giuffre’s team has appealed to the British High Court and has agreed to cooperate. If the two parties cannot reach an agreement, the court is prepared to take over the summoning of the prince.
