Tickets and beds for Helene Fischer’s mega concert next August are in great demand. A Munich hotel is now taking advantage of this – with a brazen price rip-off. Suddenly a room costs 499 euros, although the hotel had already debited 67 euros from the customer’s account.
It takes just under a year until Helene Fischer (37) takes the stage at her mega concert in Munich in front of 150,000 fans – but both tickets and beds are already in demand. The Munich hotel “The Niu Fury” is said to have shamelessly exploited this, according to a report in the “Bild” newspaper.
The customer books for 67 euros – then suddenly the room costs 499 euros
In addition to the tickets, a Helene fan also booked the accommodation directly, which is located near the concert venue, and paid just under 67 euros per night per person. The amount was debited from his account, but a little later the hotel canceled the booking.
Suddenly the price per room was 499 euros. The hotel apparently seemed to have noticed that the fisherman’s concert was taking place on that day and consequently increased the prices significantly, the person concerned suspects.
When asked by the newspaper, the hotel press officer insisted on a system error. “In this case, a system or transmission error resulted in incorrectly issued rates and automatically canceled bookings.”
Lawyer: The customer is entitled to an overnight stay for 67 euros
The customer concerned does not believe in this: “Absolutely cheeky! I called them immediately and asked. First they said it was due to the booking system. The prices were wrong. Later they pushed it onto my credit card. Which is total nonsense, because my booking has already been debited, “said the man to” Bild “.
According to Arndt Kempgens, lawyer for consumer protection, the person concerned is entitled to his booking price. “With a booking confirmation, a contract is concluded that cannot be terminated unilaterally. The man is entitled to an overnight stay for just under 67 euros, “said Kempgens.
