CINEMA – Cinema at the service of a good cause. Jean Dujardin began this Tuesday, September 14 in Tende (Alpes-Maritimes), the shooting of the film by Denis Imbert The Paths of Stone, in which he plays the main role.
A place anything but harmless since the village, very isolated in the Roya valley, had been hit hard by storm Alex last year. Bad weather from which the town is barely recovering today, 20% of its 2,000 inhabitants having left their homes.
The film crews sought to bring comfort to all residents, as Clément Miserez, the producer of the feature film, explains to Nice morning. “It was important to come and support the inhabitants of this region of the department who were victims of this terrible storm Alex,” he said. In our way, something had to be done for them. We are very happy to support them. ”
The Paths of Stone, adaptation of a poignant story
Jean-Pierre Vassallo, mayor of Tende, for his part sees it as a golden opportunity “to make his village known”. “Jean Dujardin will also bring something more to the film. It is really a pleasure to welcome him here with the whole film crew. It will employ local artisans, he wants to believe. We would also like a lot of filming to take place in our town ”.
The Paths of Stone is an adaptation of Sylvain Tesso’s autobiographical book, On the black roads (released in 2016). In his story, which sold over 230,000 copies, the author recounts the journey he undertook throughout France, shortly after his coma. A way for him to reclaim his body, when he had lost certain motor skills during a domestic accident. In addition to Jean Dujardin, Jonathan Zaccaï, Izïa Higelin and Anny Duperey are also scheduled for the casting.
