RTL presenter Katja Burkard has had very uncomfortable days. The 56-year-old has what is known as harvest scabies, a very itchy skin disease. Her ankle was fiery red and itched “like hell,” she complained. Penicillin treatment is even required.
RTL presenter Katja Burkard (56) has just found out firsthand that a trip to nature can sometimes have unpleasant consequences. In an Instagram story, she now complained to her followers: “I have crop scratches! No joke: I was stung. I’ll spare you the sight of my ankle! Grass mites!” She had to take penicillin for six days because of a superinfection. The whole thing is “typical for September”, according to her doctor. And Burkard advised everyone: “Take care, now in the grass.”
Katja Burkard has harvest scratches: “Everything is fiery red”
How uncomfortable the whole thing is, she explained in more detail on “RTL.de”: “The ankle can no longer be seen, everything is fiery red and itches like hell!” Harvest dross is a very itchy skin disease caused by grass mites. Their larvae feed on human and vertebrate skin. As a rule, the harvest dross disappears spontaneously after 10 to 14 days.
At Burkard, however, the superinfection apparently required antibiotic treatment. So the “Punkt 12” moderator can only wish that she got over the unpleasant experience as soon as possible.
