In the midst of the controversy over the massive intoxication of students at the Manantiales school in La Plata, apparently due to the ingestion of food in poor condition in the institution’s dining room, it was known that some 79 intoxications were reported until late in the afternoon. .

This was stated by the legal representative of the institution, Marcelo Venturino, after the school launched a survey to know exactly the number of students who presented symptoms of intoxication yesterday after attending the school canteen.

The case came to light due to a complaint made by parents after yesterday their children, both primary and secondary, reported stomach pain and diarrhea. “My daughter writhed in pain,” said the mother of a second-grader.

In this context, Venturino explained that according to the survey, until around 1:00 p.m. the attendance of 170 primary school students was reported to the dining room, of which 42 presented symptoms of intoxication. Meanwhile, in relation to secondary school, 150 dining room assistants were reported, of which 37 presented symptoms of discomfort.

Likewise, Venturino pointed out that “we learned about the situation from the note from the parents and calls, not from absenteeism. There were no serious cases and that is good. This afternoon, a meeting will be held with primary school parents to explain them. how we are proceeding and to talk about the dining room. It is not an outsourced area but it is our own staff, from the school “.

On the other hand, he assured that “we will receive food science inspectors, we have saved potato cake, milk and yogurt to deliver them and we can know what happened.”
