Health raises a booster dose to residents in senior centers as of October 4

Health raises a booster dose to residents in senior centers as of October 4. It has been explained by the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, after the Interterritorial Health Council.

“A proposal of the vaccine presentation is to include in that additional dose to group 7, people with some type of immunosuppression or disease who advise that additional dose. It has also proposed a booster dose for residents in nursing homes from October 4. This is a proposal for the vaccine presentation that has to be agreed tomorrow by the Public Health Commission, “said the minister.

The Interterritorial Health Council, where the Ministry of Health and the autonomies is represented, has agreed this Wednesday that it will be this Thursday in the Public Health Commission where the downward revision of the restrictive measures and the ‘traffic light’ document will be assessed, with alert levels, in order to make decisions on the same line.

As reported by regional sources, it will also be tomorrow, in that same Commission, when the third dose is assessed in nursing homes and in people with low immunity such as patients on hemodialysis, with oncohematological disease or lung cancer being treated with chemotherapy.

Sources have indicated that, in the case of residences, it is being studied to coincide the inoculation of the third dose with the influenza vaccine.

Regarding the relaxation of measures that some communities announced these days, the Council, in general, has opted for caution, “go slowly and with prudence.” In the Interterritorial it has also been found that the epidemic is evolving well, with a drop of 32 percent in one week and 31 percent, the previous week.

Evolution, they have said, that this decrease in hospitalizations and in ICU occupancy can also be seen, although somewhat less.

Three out of four Spaniards have the complete guideline

Three out of every four people in Spain are already vaccinated with the complete covid-19 schedule as the vaccination campaign has reached 75% of the immunized population, according to the latest data published this Wednesday by the Ministry of Health.

A figure that is reached fifteen days after achieving the goal of 70% of people immunized against the coronavirus and that according to the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, is a “tremendously relevant” data.

Darias has appeared at the press conference after the meeting of the Interterritorial Council where he said that the vaccination rate “continues to be good” because Spain is “the leading country in vaccination and we are among the first in the European Union in these terms” , has stated.

In the last 24 hours, 200,992 doses have been administered, of which 158,583 doses correspond to second doses, while the communities have 6,631,330 vaccines in their refrigerators
