The successful cookery show “The Perfect Dinner” has been running on Vox for over 15 years. As station spokeswoman Katrin Bechtoldt points out to FOCUS Online, an end is far from in sight. It also reveals how the candidates are selected.
FOCUS Online: “The perfect dinner” is a long-running hit on Vox. Is there a schedule for how long the show will continue to run? Hasn’t everything cooked up at some point?
Vox broadcaster Katrin Bechtoldt: We have now been running very successfully for 15 years, we are still a long way from boiling down. Eating habits, preparation methods and forms of nutrition have changed in recent years. So we also have constant change that we can map well. And each participant has their own interpretation of how a dish is prepared.
Exclusive look behind the scenes: candidate selection at “The perfect dinner”
How are the candidates for the cooking show selected?
Bechtoldt: We look forward to every: n applicant who has the time and inclination during the production period. Participants must be at least 18 years old. The easiest way to apply is online or by phone. As soon as a round of “The Perfect Dinner” is due in the respective city, the casting editors will contact the applicants a few weeks in advance.
IFood bloggers and influencers are always involved in cooking. Are you looking for them or are they coming to you? What is the relationship between “normal” chefs and influencers?
Bechtoldt: In comparison, the ratio of bloggers and influencers makes up only a small proportion of applicants. In most cases, we approach the potential candidates in the casting process.
