Details of the US-British-Australian Defense Partnership Treaty Revealed

The heads of the United States, Great Britain and Australia have revealed the details of the defense and security partnership agreement. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a joint statement by the leaders of the three countries.

The agreement was named AUUKUS (an abbreviation for the names of the three participating countries: Australia, United Kingdom, United States). The goal of this partnership is to facilitate the exchange of information and technological innovations in the field of artificial intelligence, cybernetic and underwater systems, as well as the emergence of the possibility of striking from great distances. In addition, the group intends to discuss the topic of nuclear security and countering China.

“The purpose of this is not only to strengthen our capabilities in the Indo-Pacific region, but also to bring Europe, in particular the UK, closer to our strategic efforts. and will ensure deeper interoperability between the navies of the three countries, ”White House officials said during the briefing.

Among other things, the agreement provides for the transfer of technologies for the construction of nuclear submarines to Australia. However, the AUU however, the Australian authorities have assured that the country remains committed to fulfilling all of its obligations as a non-nuclear-weapon state. And the development of nuclear powered submarines “will be a joint endeavor of the three countries with an emphasis on interoperability, commonality and mutual benefit.”

Earlier, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson expressed hope that the AUUKUS alliance “will bring countries closer together than ever before, creating a new defense partnership and providing jobs and prosperity.”
