The Secretary for Parliamentary Relations, Fernando “Chino” Navarro, rejected today the resignations of ministers and officials to the national government after the result of the PASO and indicated that it is a “mistake.”
“Beyond the healthy intention of the decision, it seems to me a mistake. A government operating in the media is not resigned or supported,” Navarro said in dialogue with the press.
The member of the Evita Movement also referred to society’s turnout to the polls and argued that they gave “an example of responsibility, good sense” and “voted peacefully.”
“You can say that fewer people voted than in other elections. Yes, it is true. But if you compare the participation percentages with neighboring countries and with Europe in a pandemic, a lot of people voted,” he said.
Navarro indicated that it requires “good sense, reasonableness” and “when there are no agreements, continue to dialogue” because “the minister is not at stake in the interest of a minister, of a space, of a group” but “the fate of millions of parties that are having a bad time “. “As a government we have to rise to the occasion,” he said.
“I am very sorry that colleagues that I value and respect very much have made the decision. They were surely pushed by the noblest decisions,” he concluded.
