Schachpartie in Sibirien endet mit Doppelmord

In the city of Kransnoyarsk in Siberia, a 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He is accused of double homicide. According to the investigative committee of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the man and his partner entered the stairwell of his house on September 12, where two of his neighbors were playing chess. At first he just watched the game, but then there was an argument between him and the two chess players. The man claims to have had the impression that one of the players was paying “excessive attention” to his girlfriend. Regarding the course of events, the authority stated:

“As a result of the argument, the attacker took a knife and stabbed both victims fatally.”

One of the victims died on the scene, the other was taken to a hospital, where the man succumbed to his serious injuries despite emergency care. The perpetrator faces up to 20 years imprisonment. The investigation is currently underway in the course of which the competent authority is interrogating eyewitnesses. In addition, an assessment by experts was instructed.

In July, a man beat his mother to death in an argument in the Kransnoyarsk region. The perpetrator had fled but was arrested on September 10 in another Russian region. He is due to be transferred to the Kransnoyarsk region shortly.
