Chascomús: After a multiple crash, a four-month-old baby died

A four-month-old baby died and six other people were injured this morning after a multiple collision between three vehicles, which were overturned on the road of Highway 2 and on the shoulder at the height of the Buenos Aires district of Chascomús, police and road sources reported .

The accident occurred after 3.30 at kilometer 96 of Route 2, on the side that goes to the Atlantic Coast, between Samborombón and Chascomús, where a van, a Mini Bus that was circulating without passengers and a truck collided.

Shortly afterwards, personnel from the highway, the Buenos Aires police and the SAME province attended the scene and assisted the injured, who were taken to the Chascomús hospital, where the baby died.

According to firefighters, the driver of the truck -which was transporting beers- had to be rescued from between the irons, while the rest of the injured are the driver and a companion of the Mini Bus, and a married couple and two children who They were traveling in the Dodge Journey truck.

“At 3.37 we received the call and at 3.55 six wounded were admitted; one was trapped and it took a little longer to be released,” said the director of the Hospital de Chascomús, Jorge Pablo Rodríguez.

The doctor explained in dialogue with TN that with regard to the family victim of the road accident “the baby died, a 6-year-old boy is hospitalized with his mother and studies are being carried out on the father.”

Meanwhile, “an adult patient was referred to San Martín for vascular compromise and another entered the operating room and is currently undergoing surgery to stabilize him,” he added about the injured.

As explained by the sources, the traffic in the area has been cut off from the moment of the accident and a diversion is made by contra lane from Km 96 to 97.

Aubasa company road safety personnel are waiting for the experts to be able to remove the vehicles and clear the route, the sources added.
