In the last broadcast of Bake Off Argentina (Telefe), the participants had the technical challenge of following a Dolli Irigoyen recipe. And, as happened in previous seasons, the preparation of Italian meringue again caused more than a real headache. “I see some that are very good, there are also several landslides,” said Damián Betular before the tasting begins.
Although most of the elaborations were far from conquering the jury, Gabriel “El Taxista” Amato was the one who had the worst performance. His rolling had nothing redeemable, but there was a question that ended up condemning him: the aesthetics were very far from the original model. “I crashed into a truck at 120 and did not even look at the patent,” said the contestant to describe what he had done. He added: “Sorry, Dolli. Then I’ll take you for free ”.
It is worth noting that all the memes and comments on social networks had a very good vibe with the contestant. “The Taxi Driver”, as he was already nicknamed for his profession, has already won over viewers for his simplicity and kindness. “I have already become fond of it and I know that it will have a very bad time,” said one user. Another, meanwhile, said: “I declare myself a fan. It is from Berisso, it refers to the La Plata transit and it cooks with wine from the region, we want it ”.
At the closing of the returns, when the juries evaluated the desserts, they all agreed: the driver had presented the worst of all. “I put all the amounts, I followed the recipe, but nothing came out,” Gabriel acknowledged. Hearing him, Betular asked him to be more focused for the next one: “You have to read the recipe well and follow the step by step.”
On Monday, on the first show of this new season, Amato had already put viewers in his pocket when he described what his greatest ambition is. “My big dream with the subject of pastry is to be able to open a tea house in the future and be able to serve coffee, with my cakes, with my preparations,” he said. In addition, he mentioned what would be the name chosen for that undertaking: “La Casita de Molfeta”, in honor of the land where his father was born.
During another passage of the reality show, he referred to how his co-workers began to treat him since they found out that he was going to be part of the reality show: “They burden me a lot with this topic of pastry, they are two professions that do not combine. When did you see a pastry taxi driver?
The taxi driver is 52 years old and was born in Chascomús, but his place in the world is Berisso. In that Buenos Aires party is where he grew up and where he lives with his wife, with whom he has been married for almost three decades. In addition to the time he spends in his car and his love of cooking, he also has another hobby: the radio. The truth is that in his first steps both in the pastry shop and in the media, he already has the support of the public.
