Amsterdam Dance Event will continue this year

This year’s dance festival in Amsterdam is from 13 to 17 October. Last time in 2019, the event attracted around 400,000 Dutch and international visitors. On Tuesday, the Amsterdam Music Festival (AMF), the largest event of the Amsterdam Dance Event, announced that it would not take place. Normally, the Amsterdam Music Festival in the Johan Cruyff Arena is attended by about 35,000 people.

“Although a select number of events have unfortunately had to cancel their event for the time being, there is fortunately more than enough left to set up a great ADE,” said directors Jan-Willem van de Ven and Meindert Kennis. “Despite the limitations, we are pleased that ADE can still help support this entire sector in this way.”

Some relaxations were announced during the corona press conference on Tuesday, but the night catering and clubs must keep their doors closed between 00.00 and 06.00 for the time being. “Immediately after the press conference, we were showered with messages from organizers who want to do everything they can to continue their program within the current measures,” said the directors.
