Vienna – Wednesday, September 15, 2021, 6:44 p.m.

Good news in the dispute between the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League and the players’ union “UNION” (LAOLA1 reported and explained the facts >>>)!

On Wednesday there was still an agreement in the discussion about the waivers. After further discussions with the club managers and the player representatives of the teams concerned, the last forms of the four missing teams were received. This means that the players can be registered for the game and nothing stands in the way of the start of the season.

“At the same time, the talks with club managers that are now finally taking place have shown that there is indeed interest in negotiating a model contract for all Austrian ICEHL teams,” says Christian Meidlinger, chairman of the “younion” – the umbrella trade union that also includes ice hockey – Representatives act.

Corresponding negotiations have not yet come about, according to a broadcast by the union in the spring, but should be started in the coming weeks.

In the future, KAC manager Oliver Pilloni should also provide better communication between player representatives and the league. All legal questions concerning the players should be brought to the “UNION” in advance in order to discuss them in advance and to find a mutually acceptable solution.
