Oleksiy Arestovich, adviser to the office of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy, explained his words about the “resort for boys” in Donbass, which he said several years ago in an interview. He wrote about this on his Facebook.
The interview in question was given by Arestovich in 2017 to the Ukrainian edition of Apostrophe. Then he commented on Kiev’s operation in Donbass as a military expert and did not hold any posts. According to him, the conversation was devoted to the “information war against Ukraine.”
“The journalist asked me about the buildup of the emotional situation with messages like” our guys are dying in vain “,” everyone in the ATO is constantly suffering “,” we should all go in mourning, prohibit fireworks, the country should not rejoice while at least one soldier is at war. ” In general, “everything is bad,” “he explained. Arestovich stressed that at that time he was not an official. “On human rights, who himself spent a lot of time in the ATO, I spoke quite emotionally,” the politician noted.
Zelensky’s adviser admitted that at present he would have expressed himself on this score in a different way, “much more severely.” “Then, I just returned from another trip to the ATO. And I was a little furious that they are constantly trying to make us cry, ”he explained. In his opinion, such attempts should be answered cheerfully in order to “win the information war.”
Earlier, Arestovich proposed to rename Ukraine to Rus-Ukraine. He said that Russia needs to take away the brand of “Russians”, since, in his opinion, it is Ukraine that is Russia, and Russia, in his words, can only “stretch” its claim to this legacy.
