Vaccination obligation: caregivers say they are stigmatized by the government

Sylvie Pons, federal secretary – CGT Santé action sociale, reacted to the microphone of RT France about the effective entry into force of the vaccination obligation for caregivers from September 15. From that date, they, as well as firefighters and professions in contact with the population – with the exception of the police – must have received at least one dose of vaccine, failing which their contract will be suspended.

Sylvie Pons denounces the pressure exerted, according to her, on nursing staff, already exhausted by the health crisis: “Our caregivers can no longer take it on the ground.” According to her, the lack of staff that is hitting the hospital sector risks worsening because of the penalties provided for, not to mention the deterioration in working conditions that she also mentions.

While they were applauded every evening at 8 p.m. during the first confinement, she explains that caregivers have felt singled out since compulsory vaccination was imposed on them by the government. A method they denounce, without however saying they are hostile to the vaccination against Covid-19 in itself.
