They return 6,000 stolen cell phones: how to know if yours is there

The Government of CABA reported that it will return more than six thousand cell phones stolen on public roads. The mobiles were found by the City Police in the framework of an investigation of different premises that sell stolen objects of this type.

Among the six thousand devices are models belonging to Samsung, Nokia, LG and IPhone, among others. Those who want to know if their cell phone is indeed among them, should go to the different offices that Horacio Rodríguez Larreta installed in CABA. They must first make an appointment online, on the page of the City of Buenos Aires.

This process to be able to deliver stolen objects to the victims of theft took time and joint effort from the Police and the Courts involved. Through an investigation process, the IMEI of each device is located, then the telephone companies to which customer data belong is requested to be able to contact them.

All this can be done by means of a judicial authorization that fixes it. When entering the website, it is possible to verify which are the specific models to be returned by the police force.
