With an inaugural class, on September 14, 2007 in what is now its Cultural Center on September 24, 476, the University of San Pablo-T was launched, an educational project that dreamed of becoming a university long before with the creation of the Foundation for Development.
To commemorate this day, an act was held on the university campus located in São Paulo, which was led by the Secretary of the Foundation for Development, Catalina Rocchia Ferro, the Rector of USP-T, Ramiro Albarracin, and the vice-chancellor, Ines Yamúss. The directors of the institutes that are part of this university, teachers and administrative staff participated.
“During the event, the work carried out by teachers and non-teaching staff during the time of the pandemic was highlighted, highlighting the return to face-to-face presence since this semester. In addition, the advances in research by the Comprehensive Center for Applied Biotechnology, created six years ago; the growth of the San Pablo-T natural and multipurpose reserve, founded in 2016. The launch of the Pre-University College, which is already enrolling for the 2022 cycle, was also highlighted, as well as the development of the platforms educational programs for the dictation of distance careers, “they reported in a statement.
In this sense, the authorities indicated that sub-offices are being inaugurated in different parts of the country as support units for students from those provinces who trust this university for their professional education.
“This year this House of High Studies, created by the businesswoman Catalina Lonac, launched the Architecture career, another of the objectives fulfilled by those who founded this institution,” they added.
In July 2007, presidential decree No. 859/07 authorized the creation of the USP-T, approving its statutes and authorizing it to begin its academic activities, as of September 14 of the same year. In 2013 the university began with the internal self-evaluation process, an external evaluation carried out by a committee of peer evaluators and an ad hoc evaluation by university experts. The National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CONEAU) was the one who ruled and recommended to the Executive Power of the Nation, grant the final recognition requested, considering that the University is in a position to adequately and responsibly exercise the powers granted by the Higher Education Law . This recommendation was endorsed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of the Nation that allowed the President of the Nation, Mauricio Macri, will definitively authorize the USP-T in 2018, in compliance with the requirements of the Higher Education Law in the terms of article 65, to grant full university autonomy.
