In the last goodbye to Nicolás Naranjo, the cycling environment showed the affection that the athlete who died last Sunday was able to win. Companions and rivals of a luxury packer like Naranjo agreed to highlight the human quality.
Luciando Montivero: “It is a very difficult moment to speak. For me Nico was always an idol, with all the lyrics. There was nothing to reproach him. We are going to try to move on and keep the best he had, his wave. Now we are going to accompany him. To his family”.
Leonardo Cobarrubia: “I keep the best memories of Nico, the truth is that he is a very good person. We were rivals but we never had a problem in a race. And on the bike he was an excellent person, a very companion. I hope he rests in peace. I will never forget”.
Daniel Zamora: “Nico’s good vibes can be counted on a trip we made to compete in the first edition of the Vuelta a Catamarca. We went with Pato Montivero, Diego Etcharri, Cabezón and me. And the truth is that we didn’t even see it squarely “But we didn’t care at all. On the last night we celebrated the same. We went in Pato’s car and we had a great time even though the result was not good at all.”
Franco Lopez: It is a very hard moment, saying goodbye to a great friend. Cycling gave me a brother, what could I call him. We made an effort to come (from La Rioja) to see him off. We affectionately called him the ‘Cabezón’ and I have many anecdotes. He has been an excellent person and a better companion. Rest in peace”.
