Arsenal fans took to Twitter to respond after the Daily Mail revealed that Aaron Ramsdale is now expected to retain his place in the starting XI.

What is the story?

Well, the £ 24million man has only started one Premier League game for the Gunners, but it looks like Mikel Arteta has made up his mind.

The Spaniard has made the bold decision to drop his longtime No.1 Bernd Leno in place of Ramsdale, who has just arrived at Emirates Stadium.

In doing so, Arsenal retained their first Premier League clean sheet this season, while also scoring their first goal and recording their first victory.

It may have just been a 1-0 win over Norwich, although Ramsdale has shown signs of what Arteta expects from his goalkeeper.

One incident saw the 23-year-old drop a shoulder to deceive Teemu Pukki, before shooting a precise, long-range pass to Martin Ødegaard.

Can Bernd Leno reclaim his place against Aaron Ramsdale at Arsenal?

In our opinion, Leno will struggle to regain his place.

Arteta didn’t spend £ 24million on a goalkeeper for no reason, and that indicates Ramsdale got into the starting XI so early.

Leno struggles with his feet. Time and time again, the £ 100,000-a-week German has put his team-mates under pressure with dismal passes, leading to goals.

It just can’t happen in a system where it all starts with the goalie at the back, hence the reason Ramsdale came in.

Unless the old Bournemouth glove has a few nightmarish performances in a row, we can’t see Leno coming back.

For now, let’s see what Arsenal fans on Twitter have to say about the Daily Mail report on Ramsdale…
