River returns to the Argentine Volleyball League

The last season of the Argentine League was a challenge for Aclav. After the 19/20 semis was suspended due to the pandemic, the last edition was with only seven teams and in bubble formats. This year 10 were confirmed, including River, a historic who had been absent.

Policial de Formosa won the A2 and secured a place to debut in the maximum.

Last year, both the Millo and the Aclav intended to have the team participate. Nevertheless, due to differences in organization, the champion in 1999 ended up playing A2 with guys from the club, mostly inferiors, and came third.

In that tournament Police of Formosa was consecrated, a new face for this edition of the League. The other finalist, Monteros de Tucumán, will also take advantage of its square and will return to the contest. Like River, it had been a fixed but in the pandemic edition it was lowered.

These three teams will join UPCN (champion), Obras and UVT de San Juan; Paracao; Defenders of Banfield; Once Unidos and the City of Buenos Aires.

Little by little, the sports league that brought the bronze from Tokyo is being assembled again and the return of River is great news.

And Boca?

Despite the fact that the registration for those who had a guaranteed place (those who played the last edition and those who achieved promotion in A2) has already closed, more teams are still expected in the Argentine League. Aclav announced that it will evaluate a series of Applications submitted by other institutions that expressed their intention to join to the highest category of national volleyball clubs. River is already inside. Will Boca join?
