The cult band City ends after 50 years. In 2022 the musicians will go on a “The Last Round” tour.

In the coming year it will be 50 years since City was founded. The Berlin band would like to celebrate this anniversary with a “The Last Round” tour in 2022, before it is all over. Then “the cult band will play the big and small hits as well as their personal favorite songs live for the last time and say goodbye to their fans and companions with their anniversary tour”, according to a message from the organizer Semmel Concerts.

From Berlin to Berlin

The band’s drummer, Klaus Selmke (1950-2020), died last May. City would also like to remember him on their farewell tour. Performances in Dresden, Gera, Hanover, Rostock, Leipzig and Zwickau are planned. The kick-off for “The Last Round” will take place together with the Berliner Symphoniker and guests on the Parkbühne Wuhlheide in Berlin on July 23, 2022. The very last concert is scheduled to take place again in the capital on December 30, 2022.

In 2022, City want to “say goodbye to the audience”, says singer Toni Krahl (71) on Instagram, among others. The band’s hits include songs like “Am Fenster” and “Casablanca”. An exclusive advance sale for the tickets starts on September 15th at Eventim. Two days later, from September 17th, tickets are also available at all other known advance booking offices.
