My little beauty secrets: oats

Known for its moisturizing properties, oats were already used in baths by the Romans and Greeks. Here are some simple beauty recipes to make to take advantage of the virtues of this cereal grown in winter and spring.

Rich in natural fibers, vitamins and minerals, oats are very healthy. It is also ideal in care for dry and / or sensitive skin.

A hydrated epidermis

Vitamin B and potassium present in oats greatly contribute to its moisturizing properties. For a “special dry skin” bath, pour 100g of oatmeal in the water and leave to act for ten minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

To complete this treatment, make a cream by mixing two tablespoons of oatmeal. Swell this powder in three tablespoons of hot water. Add a teaspoon of sweet almond oil.

Anti-impurities

In addition to vitamin B, the magnesium and iron found in oats help with cell renewal. For a gentle exfoliant, mix 45g of oatmeal and 30g of powdered milk. Add a teaspoon of corn flour (this dry set can be stored for 6 months). Pour into water to obtain a supple dough. Let thicken for a minute. Apply to the face in circular motions then rinse with lukewarm water.

For an exfoliating mask, mix two tablespoons of oatmeal and half a plain yogurt. Apply on the face and massage. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

Rested feet

The feet also have the right to a purifying mask. Mix oatmeal with rose water until you get a paste. Apply on the feet and leave to act for about fifteen minutes. Rinse with plenty of water.

Make a foot scrub by mixing 25g of oatmeal with 25g of corn flour and a tablespoon of salt in water to obtain a creamy and lumpy paste. Massage the feet with this dry scrub. Rinse and dry well.

Anti-stain for hands

For blemish-free hands, make a lightening mask consisting of a tablespoon of lemon juice, two tablespoons of oatmeal and a tablespoon of yogurt. Apply this soft paste on the back of the hands. Leave to dry for about 30 minutes. Rinse off with cold water. Dry by dabbing. To be done twice a week.

Soft and hydrated hair

The moisturizing and regenerating properties of oats make it a very good care for the hair. Pour five tablespoons of oatmeal in 50cl of almost boiling water. Stir until a paste forms. Filter through a colander to obtain a smooth milk. Apply this treatment before shampooing or as a hair mask. Rinse well with cold water.
