Heavy rains leave streets flooded in Cuenca and cause part of the roof of a sports center to fall

The heavy rains this Tuesday afternoon over the capital of Cuenca left numerous flooded streets, sports halls with leaks and even with falling parts of the roof, as well as various actions of firefighters.

According to the information collected by Europa Press, the heavy rains left in four hours, until 11:15 p.m., until 21 liters according to the rain gauges of the Confederación del Júcar.

These torrential rains caused the fall of a piece of the roof of the El Sargal sports center, as can be seen in a video shared on social networks, where it can also be seen how several leaks have appeared inside the sports center.

As for the streets, the rains were leaving streets flooded around the church of San Román, in the Villaromán neighborhood, or in the Plaza España area, in the city center, where the municipal firefighters were acting at 11:00 pm on Tuesday.

As a result of these rains, the stairs that connect Las Torres street with Diego Ramírez de Villaescusa street were also partially impassable.

The firefighters were also in other parts of the capital, although municipal sources consulted by Europa Press they could not make a first balance, since the firemen were still acting.
