Electric car several thousand euros more expensive

This is evident from data from the online car marketplace AutoScout24. After the subsidy pot for new electric cars was empty within a week, the second-hand market for electric cars came into the picture for consumers.

The supply of EVs on AutoScout increased by about 60% in August compared to the same month last year, from 8,001 EVs to 12,616. The total number of used cars sold in August amounted to more than 100,000, a decrease of around 2%.

Tesla remains the most searched brand on AutoScout24, followed by Audi, Volkswagen, Renault and BMW. When it comes to popular models, the Tesla Model S is number one. The Audi e-Tron and Tesla Model 3 are also very popular. The Renault ZOE comes in fourth place, in fifth place is the Volkswagen Golf.

The Dutch are more interested in electric cars, 45% would consider buying a battery-powered car when purchasing their next car. More than half of the Dutch people surveyed would like to receive more information about maintenance costs and the advantages and disadvantages of electric driving. Also, a majority view EVs as too expensive and unsuitable for everyday use.
