Dozens of establishments in Georgia fined for non-compliance with covid regulations

More than 30 establishments had to be closed for repeated violations

TBILISI, September 14 – Sputnik. Employees of the Georgian Labor Inspection Department have fined 60 institutions since August 10 for non-observance of covid restrictions, said the head of the department, Beka Peradze, on the air of the Imedi TV channel.

Due to the worsening epidemiological situation in Georgia, control over weddings, commemorations, anniversaries and other public events has been tightened. In addition, restaurants and clubs are prohibited from working at night. In case of violation, the facility is fined 10 thousand lari (about $ 3,250), and if the fact repeats, the facility is closed.

“Since August 10, when control was tightened, more than 55 thousand events have been carried out … We check daily compliance with regulations throughout the country. Violations of some facilities were serious, and many of them were repeated, so 35 of them had to be sealed,” Peradze.

Despite the increase in the rate of mass vaccinations, Georgia is still experiencing the fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic. According to doctors, its peak has already passed. It is still mandatory in the country to wear masks both in closed and open spaces. It is recommended to keep your distance. Business objects are required to comply with a number of requirements of the Ministry of Health of Georgia.
