A dormitory for migrants, which operated near Sergiev Posad in the Moscow region, was closed after the high-profile murder of a Russian woman. This was reported by the press service of the Moscow region on Instagram.
All tenants have already been taken out of there. It is said that the building will now house a police stronghold, a pharmacy, and a multifunctional center of public services.
According to the advisor to the head of the Sergiev Posad district of the Moscow region, Anton Yemelin, the migrants who lived are now located on the territory of the municipality in another hostel. As for their work activities, the workers will be delivered in an organized manner by bus.
The municipal authorities reported that by closing the hostel, they fulfilled the only requirement of local residents who gathered for a spontaneous gathering after the rape and murder of a pensioner. It is also noted that the district administration provided assistance in the funeral of the murdered woman.
On September 12, it became known about the disappearance of a 67-year-old pensioner in Buzhaninovo near Moscow. Her body was found in the forest near SNT, where she lived. Two migrants were detained on suspicion of rape and murder. After information about the brutal massacre of an elderly Russian woman, dozens of local residents organized a public gathering in protest near the dormitory building where the migrants lived. The gathered people demanded to punish the guilty and close the hostel.
The Investigative Committee of Russia has indicted two suspects. The investigator intends to petition for their arrest. It is noted that the men were detained in hot pursuit.
The head of the Sergiev Posad urban district, Mikhail Tokarev, communicating with the outraged residents, revealed that the suspects did not live in that hostel at all. Referring to the documents of the investigators, he explained that “these two lived in a private summer cottage in the Priozerie, if I am not mistaken, which you, the locals, should know. It is located at a distance of more than two kilometers. They have nothing to do with the hostel, ”he said, adding that the two are citizens of Tajikistan, they built a private house and lived in a tent.
However, Andrei Mardasov, a deputy of the council of the Sergiev Posad urban district of the Moscow region, told Lente.ru that the discontent of local visitors has been going on for at least five years, but the murder of 67-year-old Natalya Eremkina was the last straw. He pointed out that literally every second woman in the village was harassed by migrants, and in addition, those who came to the village near Sergiev Posad showed a tendency to pedophilia.
The locals themselves confirmed that they were tired of such a neighborhood. According to them, after the arrival of the migrants, it became scary not only to let the children out into the street, but also to leave the house themselves. “The impudent, provocative behavior of these carriers of” coziness and comfort. ” The guest workers wandered around the village drunk, molesting women and teenagers. They offered schoolgirls sex for a drink, whistled after them and did not give a passage. The last time the girls rode bicycles near the store, there was a crowd of these men nearby. So they devoted their necks to themselves, looking after them. They shouted something in their own language and showed with their hands that, they say, let’s go to fuck. Girls 12-13 years old. That is, for them it does not matter whether they are teenagers or old women, ”said one of the residents.
Russians fear migrants because they consider them “outsiders,” but this fear is often irrational. Evgeny Varshaver, a sociologist, candidate of sciences, head of the group for studies of migration and ethnicity, senior researcher at RANEPA, named the main reason for the fear of newcomers. “Whenever migrants disturb the order, it catches our eye and causes some kind of phobias. (…) There is an explanation why this is so – this is how a person is made. When he sees people whom he reads as strangers, he begins to be afraid, “he said in an interview with Lente.ru.
In turn, professor of the Higher School of Economics (HSE) in St. Petersburg, sociologist Daniil Aleksandrov noted that conflicts with migrants have recently increased due to the fact that the covid era has increased nervousness in society and conflict situations have generally become more frequent. … “In the dock era, we had a solid knowledge from government police statistics that migrants do not commit more crimes than local residents of the corresponding age. Moreover, according to my data, when I studied them, illegal migrants commit fewer crimes because they are afraid of everyone and try to be quiet, ”he explained.
